If you are a comic book enthusiast, for sure one of your heroes is Stan Lee. His real name is Stanley Martin Lieber. He is an American writer, publisher. editor, producer, actor and now a reality host. He is the man behind famous cartoon characters such as Spiderman, X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Hulk, The Avengers, Thor, Iron Man, Daredevil and Dr. Strange. Aside from being the brains behind these characters, he is also the former chairman and president of Marvel Comics, the mega company that distributes all of his cartoon characters.

Stan Lee, his legal name today, is the one who introduced the new breed of superheroes to the public. Before, superheroes are perfect individuals with little to no problem aside from fighting crimes and defending the weak and vulnerable. It was Stan Lee’s idea to change these characteristics of the heroes into a more vulnerable one. He decided to make the superheroes a lot like human. They would worry about paying the bills, they get bored, they try to impress their girlfriends, they try to find jobs and they even get sick sometimes. This idea became a hit among comic book readers because then they can relate to their idols and role models.

This famous face of the Marvel Comics is now into a lot of creative things other than handling the company. He even delved in television and the internet. He tried animation as well.  He was also given the chance to reinvent DC Comic Book characters such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the Flash and Green Lantern.

In the October 2011 Comic Book Convention, he announced that he will be creating comic books that are more suitable for children.  He will make it available for iPad and iPhone users. Truly Stan Lee has come a long way from drawing to multimedia.  Still, his love for comics still shines through in all of his works.

He is an American professional golfer who is among the elite tagged as one of the most successful golfers of all time. Well, according to the report he earned an estimated $90.5 billion dollars for that year alone. It was the combined earnings for his golfing winnings and his endorsements.

Sally McKinnon probably has the sweetest job in the world, both figuratively and literally. She is the current product development manager for Tesco, one of the leading supermarket chains in the United Kingdom. One of the perks of her job is that she gets to be the chocolate taster for her division. She regularly travels the world in search for the best chocolates and she gets to taste each one of it for a living.

In order to be qualified for this job she presented her degree in food science, which she obtained from the University of Aberdeen. Her first job was to develop new ice cream flavors for an ice cream supplier. She then moved to Tesco but she was not assigned to the chocolate section right away. She was the product developer for the company’s sandwich range, then at the yoghurt section and off to the dessert section. She even had the chance to sample all kinds of sushi.

He was not always an announcer. He joined the army and even became a sales agent before becoming who he is now. The important part is that he kept on looking for a career he will shine on. Jim Heichelbech is an ordinary guy living an ordinary life. You might not recognize him when you bump into him on the streets. He is not popular by any chance. He is not rich and he is not famous. That is except when Christmas season begins. When Christmas time comes, he becomes the most recognizable and the most popular figure not only in his neighborhood but in the entire world. He drops the name Jim Heichelbech and he is known by another name, Santa Claus.

This Santa Claus can be found in the Burlington Mall for the third consecutive year. Before this, Jim Heichelbech has been playing the role of Old Saint Nick in orphanages, nursing homes and hospitals. He is a member of the Amalgamate Order of Real Bearded Santas, an international fraternity. He has been playing this role for 52 years now.

Jim said that being Santa Claus is not an easy job. You have to be in character 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. Yes, you have to be in character even if you are not wearing any Santa suit or even when it is not Christmas for people might recognize you, especially the children. Speaking of children, you have to love kids. You have to be quick thinking because kids are quick thinking as well. They will ask for things and you should be able to tell them whether what their asking is reasonable or not. You have to be cheerful all the time not only to kids but to the parents and grandparents as well.

Being Santa Clause is demanding on hygiene as well, as Jim brought up in one interview for the Boston Globe. You should not drink coffee, smoke cigarettes or eat smelly foods like onions and cabbage because you talk with kids up close and personal so your teeth should be white and your breath should always smell fresh.
